Environment

We recognise the impact construction works have on the local environment and have made a commitment to improving our environmental performance through our Environmental Policy. This has been in place since 2007 and provides the framework for all our work, whether it be in relation to energy saving, waste and recycling or pollution.

We are passionate about implementing our environmental policy. It has specific actions and measurable, time-bound targets so that progress can be measured against them.

We encourage involvement in environmental issues through design and promote energy conservation by efficient use, careful planning with due regard to improved energy utilisation and appropriate investment in energy efficient measures;

We minimise waste and ensure that there is effective control, which promotes recycling where possible and provides responsible disposal, particularly with regard to hazardous wastes;

We promote environmentally responsible policies in all our commercial activities, including purchasing and investment;

We strive to eliminate the release of pollutants and also by initial assessment and continuing evaluation of the appropriateness of and need for any activity which could have an impact on the environment;

We adopt an environmentally sound transport strategy;

We adopt policies which take into account the visual, sound and energy impact of our design and buildings;

We take into consideration the likely environmental effect of construction activities and developments on the local community.

We expect similar environmental standards from all parties with whom the company deals.
